ORP stands for Oxygen Reduction Potential. Simply put, it is the measurement of a compound’s ability to attract or steal electrons when combined with other compounds.  This reduction potential is measured in millivolts, and the higher the potential, the higher is the compound’s ability to attract electrons. Most substances with low ORP potential are also basic or alkaline in terms of its acidity. Tyent water ionizers transform regular water molecules into negatively charged highly basic molecules with an extremely low ORP. These converted water molecules act as an antioxidant because of their incredibly low ORP potential. Instead of attracting ions from other substances in your body, the water molecules diffuse high ORP free radicals in your system. A water ionizer not only filters the water, but it also ionizes it. As the tap water flows into the ionizer, it runs through two electrodes that apply a negative and a positive charge. Two types of water are created: one is highly alkaline and the other is highly acidic. It is the “basic” or alkaline water that has all the great health benefits. The electric charge has an effect on the structure of the water molecule. It becomes more compact and hexagonal in shape which helps with absorption.
