The author also points out statements made by both Enagic and Chanson. In the end though, the author, Laura Johannes , leaves it open in terms of the credibility of the technology. She doesn’t conclude either one way or the other in terms of whether the technology works or not.

She also points out how the shape and size of water molecule clusters are transformed after the ionization process. They become more compact, making the water over 6 times more hydrating than regular tap water. But even this ionized alkaline water benefit is also doubted.

As many may already know, there are many experts in the field of chemistry that completely debunk the credibility of the technology. At the same time, other reputable experts such as former chief of surgery at Cambridge Hospital, Horst Filtzer, stand by the technology and is an adviser of Enagic inc.

The article does not go into the fact that this technology has been used in Japanese hospitals for more than 30 years. One really good question to pose is; why would Japanese hospitals use ionized alkaline water technology for the last 30 years if it was completely ineffective and bogus? No actual conclusions were drawn by the author about credibility as she seems to have left it up to the reader.

In the end it is all about the consumer making his or her own decisions and doing his or her due diligence about ionized alkaline water technology.

They found estrogen contamination in 60 percent of the 20 brands examined. They found estrogenic compounds in the glass containers as well as the plastic containers, but only 33% of the water in glass containers contained the hormones as opposed to the 78 percent found in the plastic bottles.

The snail tests involved breeding the New Zealand snails within both the plastic and glass bottles. The results yielded about twice the amount of embryos born within the plastic bottles than were born in the glass bottles.

These findings strongly reinforce the notion and advice to try to increasingly get rid of plastic containers, especially those we use on a daily basis such as our water bottles.
